Wessler is proud to announce Brian Price as the subject of this month's Employee Spotlight! Brian currently serves as a senior project engineer for instrumentation and controls, and plays a vital role in our electrical department.
We asked Brian some questions so that we all can get to know him a little better, including his love for golf and the outdoors. Congrats, Brian!
What are your roles and responsibilities at Wessler?
My role here at Wessler is to provide instrumentation and controls (I&C) and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) support to the rest of the team. These tasks include the development of the piping and instrumentation diagram (P&ID) drawings, evaluating and recommending the appropriate SCADA equipment to be used on a project, and assisting in the development of the instrumentation specifications, among other responsibilities.
What does the Wessler Way mean to you?
In addition to the five characteristics of the “Wessler Way”, I have to say that Teamwork is an additional characteristic that the team at Wessler Engineering consistently demonstrates. Because our group is a small part of many projects, working as a team with the other groups is essential, and I feel that there is a strong sense of teamwork in every project that I have had the opportunity to work on.
What are some of your favorite things to do outside of work?
I really enjoy spending time with my wife and daughter. Whether we’re on a golf course, at a park, or at the lake, I just enjoy being able to spend time with them. Other hobbies include home renovation projects, stock and options trading, and Top Golf.
Tell us about a secret skill you have that most people probably don’t know about!
If I told you a secret skill, it wouldn’t be much of a secret anymore… but most people don’t know that I played drums in a cover band in college.
What are some things you haven’t done yet that you would still like to do?
Play the Stadium Course at the TPC Sawgrass with my Dad, go on one of those river cruises that I always see commercials for, and go island hopping in Hawaii.
What are a couple of the most memorable things you have done?
Climbing a waterfall in Jamaica, taking my daughter to Disney World for the first time, and riding on a catamaran in Mexico.
With warm weather here, what are some things you are looking forward to the most in the next few months?
Playing golf, spending time at the lake, cooking out with friends.
