We asked Katie some questions so that we all can get to know her a little better, including her love for the great outdoors and rescuing animals! Congratulations, Katie!
I serve as a project engineer for the wastewater and collection systems group in the Indianapolis office, as well as a member of the social committee.
The Wessler Way is about taking everyone's different ideas and incorporating them into the best solutions for the task at hand. I believe this has resulted in lasting employee and client relationships.
Outside of work I love to be active with my two dogs. I try to take advantage of Indy's wonderful parks and trails. I also enjoy trying new restaurants and checking out fun local events in the area.
My friends and family would say that I'm skilled at rescuing and taking care of animals. I have saved nine ducklings that had fallen into a city storm sewer, fed baby birds that have fallen from their nest, taken care of kittens, goats and highlander cattle, and rescued dogs, kittens, and turtles from streets and highways (just to name a few).
Zip lining and whitewater rafting were both on the list but I just did both in Montana and Wyoming last week! I would love to travel throughout southern Mexico and learn about their way of life and farming. Coming from western Wisconsin farm country I've seen how wonderful and important small family farms are. I would love to experience and compare those same traditions and passions in another country!
My senior year of high school I sang with the National Choir at Carnegie Hall in New York City. It was amazing to practice all week with 300 teenagers from all over the country and then perform at such a historic and iconic venue. It was a once in a lifetime experience for me.
While I still fully intend to enjoy the summer, I am taking the Professional Engineering Exam in late October...so I will be spending a lot of time studying!
