Wessler is proud to announce Aaron Andrews as our Employee of the Month! Aaron has been with Wessler since 2007, and works as an Engineering Technician in our Evansville office. We asked him some questions so that we all can get to know him better!

What are your roles and responsibilities at Wessler?

I’m going on ten years working at Wessler Engineering. Every day my role leads me to something different, whether surveying in the field, using AutoCAD for drafting plans, GIS for analysis and exhibits. I truly enjoy the multiple tasks of being an Engineering Technician, which I share with only one other co-worker - Rob Hamer.

What does the Wessler Way mean to you?

The Wessler Way means a multitude of things for me - working alongside colleagues that I can call true friends; client relationships that don’t end while not on the job; providing the best service I can for the company and being efficient at what we do.

What are some of the most important lessons you have learned?

This would be under the Survey side of our office - remembering to triangulate and double check all work before submitting! Get it right the first time, and extra effort in the field pays off in the office.

Rumor has it you are an avid hunter and fisher. Any interesting stories you could tell?

Yes, I truly love the “Great Outdoors!” I was raised in Southern Illinois, and quail hunting alongside my Grandpa and Dad was a weekly event once I turned 6 years old. The desire for hunting has only increased over the years, as I was a guide for the San Tomas Hunting Camp on the King Ranch in south Texas. Now I have moved onto waterfowl and deer hunting, but quail is still my favorite. It’s not just the hunting that I enjoy, it is the comradery and relationships that are built while being in the field. I look forward to teaching my children and building our relationships while enjoying the outdoors. I’m always open for swapping hunting stories - just give me a shout.

What are some things you enjoy doing in your spare time?

In my spare time I enjoy hanging out with my wife Natalie and our two kids Kayden (8) and Kylee Jo (4). When not caring for the kids, and I have time to slip away, I go hunting in the winter, shooting and teaching shotgun shooting sports, golfing with Kayden in the summer, spending time with them outside, and just enjoying every moment.

If you could travel back in time to any time period, what period would you travel to and why?

I would definitely like to go back to the time Jesus was walking the earth. Another person I would like to have met is Marion Robert Morrison (John Wayne). I grew up watching him with my both of my grandpas. Both of them used his coined phrases all the time.
