Employee Spotlight: Electrical Group

Posted By Seth Morin on July 14, 2017

Wessler is proud to announce our whole Electrical Group as our Employee(s) of the Month! They have been extremely busy this year, meeting several tight deadlines while performing top-quality work as usual. We had them answer a few questions below so that we all can get to know them better.

What are some of the most valuable lessons you have learned since being with Wessler?

Allen Shaw (middle-right): Not all engineering companies are the same. Wessler cares about their employees.

Brian Sahm (middle-left): There is always another way. Like every discipline, there are multiple pathways to achieve a solution. It is imperative that everyone takes the time to hear alternative solutions because they can be extremely valuable for future designs. I also believe that you should learn something new every day. No matter your age, if you do not take something new from your job each day, then you are not bettering yourself as an engineer. Knowledge is the key to success.

Outside of work, what are some of your favorite hobbies?

Wayne Moore (far right): Golf and fishing. Both require little thought about technical issues or deadlines and you don't have to be good to enjoy them. Although, it does add to the enjoyment once you figure both out.

Brian: I enjoy hunting, fishing, and scuba diving. Many times I may come back empty handed, but the escape from society and the relaxation that comes from sitting alone in the woods is second to none.

If you could add any piece of technology to your job, what would it be?

Allen: Cloning machine!

Wayne: Cloning or time machine. If I could figure that out, I probably wouldn't be working anywhere.

If you could play a game - whether it be golf, basketball, etc. - who would it be with and why?

Allen: The Detroit Lions! I have been a fan for more than 40 years.

Wayne: Golf – Not sure, maybe Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, Phil Mickelson, or at least 10 of the current LPGA players. Jack and Arnie because they were there when golf started getting big and all their stories are great. Phil because he seems like a great guy and I play like him. Laying up is not an option, if there is a chance to get on the green, you got to go for it. The LPGA players can all beat me, but it would be fun to watch.
