Employee Spotlight: Jason Walker

Posted By Seth Morin on October 13, 2017

Walker, Jason.jpgWessler is proud to announce Jason Walker as the Employee of the Month! Jason is a CAD Technician, and is a vital member of our Transportation Group. However, he does not work in just Transportation. He also helps out with various Stormwater projects and in other groups, as well.

His coworkers wanted to nominate him because of his dedication and willingness to take on additional project responsibilities.

In our Employee Spotlight interview, we asked Jason a few things so that we all can get to know him better!

What are your roles and responsibilities at Wessler?

Normally, I work on Stormwater projects; but I am a member of the Transportation Group, and fill those needs as they come up. I also help out in other departments when needed, and assist with CAD questions. I keep the Wessler templates and CAD standards up-to-date, and assist in building all existing surveys and surfaces in CAD.

What does the "Wessler Way" mean to you?

I feel that we all work as a team here at Wessler, and treat each other with respect. I feel that Wessler holds a very high standard, and I am proud to be a part of that.

What are some of the most important lessons you have learned?

I have learned to always take time to hear people out and always consider both sides when making decisions. I've learned that time is one of life's most valuable assets, and what I do with it is a reflection of who I am. I've learned it's important to always challenge myself, and to meet every challenge head on.

Outside of work, what are some of your favorite hobbies?

I love watching foreign movies, especially Japanese films. I like playing guitar and listening to music, mostly rock and alternative. I enjoy eating out at sushi, Thai, and Vietnamese restaurants.

What would be your dream car?

I would love to someday own a Mazda RX7. I once saw it in a movie and have been in love with the car ever since.

If you could travel the world, where would you go and what would you do?

I'd probably travel to Japan, Thailand or South Korea. I have been in love with Asia since I was a kid and would love to spend a couple months exploring someday. I'd also love to visit Scotland someday.
