Wessler is proud to announce Jay Dial as the subject of this month's Employee Spotlight! Jay joined Wessler in early 2018, and currently serves in our Fort Wayne, Indiana office as a resident project representative (RPR).
We asked Jay a handful of questions so that we all can get to know him better, including his secret skills and love of theater! Congrats, Jay!
My title is RPR, but I have been asked to help with smoke testing, manhole inspections, photography and other field services when needed to give our clients a quick response to issues and concerns. I’ve been able to help with some preliminary cost estimations and answering questions about construction processes. Aaron Hutton (our Fort Wayne office manager) has even tasked me with some business development work, and, to my surprise, I have enjoyed that quite a bit!
I’ll answer that this way; soon after I started I received a water bottle with the following words on it: THANKFUL, KIND, EXCELLENT, HUMBLE, DEVOTED, #WESSLERWAY. And I thought "that’s cool." What I have found over the past (almost) year is that people here don’t only say these words - they live them. It is a real TEAM EFFORT here and that makes every project important (not just the high-dollar ones), and it gives every employee that feeling of importance and ownership. I love that about Wessler!
Firefighting, hunting, camping, and woodworking.
I love to sing, dance and act, so basically anything that is in the theater! I’ve been thinking of joining the Civic Theater here in Fort Wayne, or at least trying out for a show. I'll keep you posted!
I want to go skydiving and learn how to fly a helicopter and plane.
I took my family to Ground Zero & Shanksville. As a firefighter, this is hallowed ground to me. I’ve raised two great kids- one Marine and one college graduate- with the help of my wife Lisa, of course! Speaking of Lisa, I think the MOST memorable thing I’ve done is keep her married to me for 27 years without a doubt!
