For communities and water/sewer utilities in Indiana and Ohio, you may not know about funding sources that are available for drinking water and wastewater projects. We have pulled together some resources for you. There are federal dollars (from USDA, HUD and EPA) allocated every year to the states. Each state handles those funds through state-run programs.
Here are some helpful links for available funding sources. Working through the funding process can be intimidating, but working with an engineering firm can help smooth out the process.
Indiana funding sources:

Indiana Finance Authority (IFA) implements the State Revolving Fund (SRF) for low interest loans.

USDA – Rural Development offers low interest loans.

Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs (OCRA) implements Block Grant Programs.
Ohio funding sources:

Ohio EPA implements loan programs for the Drinking Water Assistance Fund (DWAF) and Water Pollution Control Fund (WPCLF).
